Another way to verify that the filter is genuine, is to check for a small molded number located near the spouts (see photo example)

PLEASE NOTE: When the Whirlpool EveryDrop label is out of stock we will substitute with the same Kenmore labeled 9081 filter. It is the same exact filter manufactured by Whirlpool under license agreement for Kenmore. There is no material or performance difference in the filters other than the label itself.
